Music For All Ages

In October 2023, we began an intergenerational music project “Music for All Ages” supported by Norfolk Community Foundation through the Sheila Ann Day Fund

The project will include two intergenerational choir events, where care home residents and school children will be perform and enjoy music together, zoom sessions from care homes across Norfolk and free music and movement classes for babies, toddlers and care home residents.

We look forward to sharing the success of the events with you.

Our music and movement sessions have seen all ages brought together for fun, interactive sessions full of singing.

Funding has allowed us to make connections with local organisations who specialise in leading high quality pre-school music and movement activities. The sessions led by Twinkletoes and Boppity Bunnies have been extremely popular and we look forward to engaging with more professionals as the project moves forward.

We have used funding to purchase equipment that allows us to broadcast our virtual choir from care homes across Norfolk, giving us the opportunity to bring live music opportunities to more residents and bring our Friend in Deed community together.

At Christmas, we brought together school aged children and care home residents at a festive singing event called Festive Voices. Kindly hosted by Town Close School, residents from 6 care homes came together to sing and socialise with pupils from Sprowston Infant School and the Town Close chamber choir.

This event will be replicated at a different location in the summer!

Our first event was a Valentines Day celebration hosted by our friends at Ormiston Victory Academy in Costessey, Norwich.

We brought together residents from three Norfolk care homes, with pupils from Ormiston Victory and other local schools.

Entertainment was provided by pupils from OVA, and Holly Graham. We shared an afternoon tea buffet from The Feed and made some Valentines Day crafts.

Residents returned home with handmade Valentines Day cards from the pupils to share with their friends.

Movement for All Ages

In April 2023, we launched an intergenerational project supported by Norfolk Community Foundation through the Great Yarmouth Community Fund.

The project funds Friend in Deed supporting residents at Lydia Eva Court and The Lawns, providing 9, free to attend intergenerational movement sessions led by EPIC Norfolk and organise a large community sport event.

We look forward to sharing the progress of this project with you.
