Intergenerational Sports Day 2024!

Intergenerational Sports Day 2024!

Our annual sports day hosted by Norwich School is always the highlight of our year, and this year we brought even more school aged children together with residents for a fun afternoon of sport.

Residents from six care homes travelled to Norwich School to take part in various sporting events organised by the young people. All the activities were accessible to everyone…and included bean bag toss, table top curling, egg and spoon race and velcro targets! Sixth formers from Norwich School led each event, and pupils from Framingham Earl and Ghost Hill Infant and Nursery School teamed up with teams of residents to go round each event - supporting them and taking part with them.

"Our intergenerational sports day at Norwich School was a raving success as always.  When older and younger people connect through sport and physical activity, incredible things happen.  Younger people use their initiative to support those who are elderly and more vulnerable, and older people seem to flourish given the opportunity to have purpose and fun."
